A long time
ago when the Earth was green
There were more Rastafarians than you've ever seen Dreadlocked, naked as the day they were born Playing great reggae music from dusk 'til dawn (Chorus) Hey Rastaman, that's some cool beat Man, it moves my body Man, it moves my feet Hey Rastaman, those are such cool grooves So you keep right on living the life you choose Well, some Government men didn't like what they saw They said "You can't do that, we'll make it against the law" "can't have people dancing and smoking these herbs" "instead of acting responsible and going to work" But I say... (Chorus) Well, God saw this prejudice, and it gave Her pain She said "I suppose I could create another Flood again" "but this is soooo cool, don't wanna let it go" So She created the first recording studio (Chorus) At times these Rastafarians, they seem to fit in Wearing suitable clothes and opinions But in private and behind dem studio doors They keep skankin' and smokin' and ignorin' the laws.
