With recent birthday jubilations, John's glow plug is warming up

The Bonzai Culture Club members serenaded John through the end of another year on this speck of dust hurtling a kazillion miles an hour through a mostly unknown void (a bit like the minds of the BCC, but that's another story)

Good kai, good company, cheap red wine and lashings of pizza, curry and fried spuds wrapped in newspaper, the Bonzai denizens eventually rolled on home but not before more of John's words were shared... here are a handful of 'em...

Christmas Wish

Hey Santa
for Christmas this year
please take some stuff back
There's a lot I've picked up
I just don't need, like this hair in my nose
in my ears and all this grey
what's it for anyway

Take back these pains in my joints
the extra growth of eyebrow
heartburn, shortsightedness,
cynicism, shortness of breath,
sore feet, impatience,
and all these stupid wrinkles,
This worrying and obsession with detail,
easy tiring and not knowing quite how to finish a poem.
